ON 09/27/2022 AT APPROXIMATELY 3:30 PM, MAJOR BRIAN HOLLOWAY WAS CONTACTED BY CAPTAIN JOE CAMPBELL OF THE TENNESSEE WILDLIFE RESOURCES AGENCY WHO ADVISED THAT A TOWBOAT ON THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER (LOCATED AT LATITUDE 34.19/ LONGITUDE -90.86) HAD JUST DISCOVERED A HUMAN BODY FLOATING IN THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER.

THE PHILLIPS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE, ALONG WITH THE HELENA-WEST HELENA FIRE AND RESCUE, RESPONDED TO THE CALL. AFTER ENTERING THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER AT THE HELENA RIVER PARK BOAT DOCK, INVESTIGATORS (ALONG WITH THE FIRE AND RESCUE TEAM) TRAVELED SOUTH ON THE RIVER FOR APPROXIMATELY AN HOUR BEFORE COMING IN CONTACT WITH THE TOW BOAT.

THE BODY WAS RECOVERED AND WILL BE SENT TO THE ARKANSAS STATE CRIME LAB FOR AN AUTOPSY AND IDENTIFICATION.
